EMCA embarked on the first venture of their Presentation Series on Dec. 9 at the Mennonite Heritage, bringing in Canzona, Manitoba’s professional Baroque choir, directed by
Kathleen Allan. Their performance of J.S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio was accompanied by the Pacific Baroque Orchestra on period instruments. Soloists were Tracy Dahl, soprano; Vicki St. Pierre, alto; Dann Coakwell; Tyler Duncan, bass. Hear the choir and orchestra in the majestic opening chorus here.
